The Democratic Party has reacted to the dismissal of Shqirim Arif as Mayor of the Municipality of Presevo by Aleksandar Vucic, the president of Serbia.

DP calls this action a brutal act of albanophobia by little Putin Vucic.

"Brutal albanophobic act of little Putin Vu?i?. The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vu?i?, in a primitive albanophobic act, dismissed the President of the Municipality of Preševo, Mr. Shqiprim Arifi, in violation of the law and the Constitution of Serbia, only because he placed on the window of the Municipality the Albanian national flag. The Democratic Party strongly condemns this racist act of little Putin against the elected president of the Municipality of Presheva, Mr. Arifi, and calls on the international community to strongly condemn this brutal anti-democratic act Serbomadhi Vu?i? as a real destabilizing act that expresses his primitive hatred towards the symbols and identity of the Albanian nation", the reaction says. 

Through a long status on social networks, Arifi explained the day before that he has not received any notification or any reason for his dismissal.

Arifi said that the dismissal came immediately, 24 hours after he was sentenced by the Serbian Court for placing the Albanian national flag on November 28.

He underlined that with these racist anti-Albanian actions that are the legacy of the policies of the Milosevic regime. /CNA
