Customs revenues increase for January - April 2025

The revenues collected in the budget by the General Directorate of Customs during the period January-April 2025 reached 72.4 billion lek, or about 724 million euros, a figure of 3.4 billion lek or 34 million euros more compared to the first 4 months of 2024.

According to data published by the General Directorate of Customs, good administration and digitalization of customs services combined with increased consumption of excise goods are the main factors that have brought about this increase.

Referring to the data, revenues from excise goods contributed a total of +2.2 billion lekë, which came mainly from the increase in the import of Fuel by around +1.3 billion lekë (an increase in the quantity consumed by around 31,000 tons), Cigarettes by +597 million lekë (an increase in the quantity consumed by around 75 tons), Domestically produced alcoholic beverages by +33 million lekë and Imported Beer by +41 million lekë.

All excise items have a very good performance in revenue compared to the first 4 months of 2024, where specifically, the cigarette item is +75 Tons, Fuel +31,000 Tons, Beer +2,000 Tons and Coffee +132 Tons, thus reaching the highest levels in recent years./ CNA
