Report of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee/ Berisha: Condemn Rama's regime

DP leader Sali Berisha from Brussels commented on the report of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, stating that this report stigmatized Rama's regime as a regime in which there is strong political interference in the justice system.

According to Berisha, this report denounced with the greatest clarity the electoral farce of May 11, 2025.

The opposition leader stated that the report cites the introduction to the joint report of the OSCE ODIHR, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the EU Parliamentary Assembly, where in the first lines it emphasizes that the government used extensive resources to interfere in the elections.

Berisha said the rule of law turned the elections into an electoral farce.

"I think that the report that was just approved by the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee clearly and crystal-clearly branded Edi Rama's regime as a regime that does not respect the rule of law, as a regime that tramples on fundamental rights, the right to information, freedom of expression and the right to property.

The report denounces Edi Rama's regime as one in which there is strong political interference in the justice system. Great concern was expressed about the large stock of files, which implies a lack of due legal process for Albanian citizens.

This report denounced with the greatest clarity the electoral farce of May 11, 2025, as the truth is that the report cites the introduction of the joint report of the OSCE/ODIHR, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, in which it is stated in the first lines that the government used extensive resources to dominate the elections. So, in fact, it means that the government, that the rule of law turned the elections into an electoral farce.

The report also denounces Olta Xhaçka and Edi Rama, not by name, but in their affair. It denounces the parliament for not implementing the decision of the Constitutional Court, specifically for Xhaçka and Vullnet Sina.

The report sees this as an expression of the annihilation of the rule of law and the concentration of all powers in one hand.

The report indirectly condemns the strategic investment law, namely the ministers who have taken advantage of this law to plunder the properties of Albanians.

The report strongly supports the demands of Albanian owners.

"This report, in fact, despite the extraordinary efforts made by Edi Rama, today we can say that this was Waterloo," said Berisha./ CNA
