They did not vote for him to receive a mandate as an MP/ Lapaj: The electoral

Adriatik Lapaj, who ran in the May 11 parliamentary elections but did not receive enough votes to be elected to the new legislature, responded today by saying that the May 11 election process was rigged. Invited to a television studio, Lapaj justified his defeat by saying that the elections would only have been won if the system had been rigged.

In the end, Lapaj also expressed a request to citizens to change the electoral system, because perhaps this is how there is hope for him and his party, since it only received one mandate in the May 11 elections.

"The elections were not victories. It would have been a victory if the system had been broken. It would have been a victory if we had gone to early elections. We have demanded a recount of every box and verification of the seals. They opened a box in Vlora, just to throw ash in our eyes. We suspect that the process was manipulated. We want to follow the law to the end. The law says that the ballots must be viewed on camera on both sides. Abuses have been committed in Vlora and Fier. We came third out of all parties. We have also campaigned in districts where we had a hard time, such as in Dibër, Kukës, etc., and we have done this to say that the electoral system is not fair. We won a mandate with 64 thousand votes, while the SP in Vlora won a mandate with 7 thousand votes. The SP received 10 mandates plus from the formula and this is a fatal mistake of the DP, and they must apologize and an opposition unity is needed to change the system." "The government has business with it, it has crime, the state administration. The Albanian people must demand a change in the electoral system," said Lapaj. /CNA
