DP leader Sali Berisha called Prime Minister Edi Rama a living meme, a term he believes fits him. Berisha made the comments during a press conference.

In his speech, Berisha emphasized that the integration of Albania is a mission that will be fulfilled by the Democratic Party.

Berisha said that the Democratic Party, since 1992 until today, has proven to be the locomotive of all integration processes.

Berisha accused Rama of not fulfilling any condition in 12 years, apart from opening the negotiation process, and therefore they were kept in suspense for 4 years.

"Those who called Edi Rama, a living meme, found the most beautiful, the best name there is. He has become famous for fabrications and deceptions that exceed every kind of limit.

The Democratic Party, since 1992 until today, has been the driving force behind all integration processes: the Council of Europe, the Stabilization and Association Agreement, the lifting of visas, the recommendation of candidate status by the European Commission, Albania's membership in NATO.

Edi Rama says, in 12 years, in addition to opening the negotiation process, after delaying it for years, which is a synequanon of receiving candidate status, which did not meet any conditions and were opened for geo-strategic issues, that they were kept in suspense for 4 years and it was seen that this does not respect anything, they were opened for geo-strategic reasons.

Therefore, that mission will be fulfilled by the DP, and I assure the Albanians that with the same seriousness, transparency and determination that we achieved the major moments of Albania's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, with the same seriousness we will finalize the negotiations with the EU and Albania's full membership in the European Union, but based entirely on merit. Merit is the basis, this is the interest of the Albanians", said Berisha./CNA
