The February 20 protest/ Media call: It is the day of Albanians for change

The Republican Party has joined the opposition effort to sensitize citizens about participating in the February 20 protest.

The president of the PR, Fatmir Mediu, considered the February 20 protest as an opportunity for Albanian citizens to raise their voices for an Albania where rights are respected and the economy develops.

"February 20 is the day of Albanians. February 20 is to stay, to demand a state that respects the Constitution, that respects the citizens, that respects their rights, that respects the parliament and parliamentarism. As Albanians, we want an opportunity to move towards Europe and not to return to dark times of control of people's lives, control of politics or punishment for political interests. This must end! The only way to end it is for the Albanian citizens to move together! Just as they were led on February 20, 1991 to overthrow the monuments of the dictatorship, today it is to overthrow the same behavior by some people who do not have the interest of Albania, but the interest of their power. As an opposition political party, we must stand above any power just to build that state that we have promised since the beginning of the 90s and to make a European Albania a reality as soon as possible", he said.
