The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, during his speech in the Assembly, also presented the draft law on "Maritime aids and navigation".
Peleshi asked the deputies to vote for this draft law, as he said Albania's accession to this international organization places the country on the map of safe countries.
"It will put Albania on the map of safe countries. The initiative for Albania's accession to this organization belongs to the Ministry of Defense. Some time ago, we also approved the law for Albania's accession to the international hydrographic map.
Today we strengthen the legal framework for safe navigation. Even today we apply the rules of safe navigation voluntarily, but membership in this organization gives us access to training, but also to expand the network of cooperation. It will enable the completion of the legal framework in the maritime field. There is also a fee. It is 17,675 euros per year, it will be covered by the ministry's budget", declared Peleshi. /CNA.al
