In the annual analysis of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the minister, also deputy prime minister, Belinda Balluku gave an overview of the road axes which are expected to be delivered during the year 2024.

Balluku said that the delivery of the Llogara Tunnel will take place at the beginning of the summer season of 2024, on June 30. As for the Thumanë-Kashar axis, she said that it will be put into operation during the summer of 2023.

"2024 will mark two important moments; the delivery of the Llogara Tunnel , which has been a dream for many previous governments, but which was realized by the Rama government. It will be completed and opened at the beginning of the summer season of 2024, it has been a long but well-researched process. There have been challenges in terms of geology, but there has been consistent geology and we have not stopped from the calendar. On June 30, 2024, the work will be delivered. Another good news, we started the year with an inspection on the Thumane-Kashar axis. It has also been requested from the concessionaire company to follow up and deliver as soon as possible. Thumane-Kashar will be put into operation in the summer of 2024. A long struggle will end in 2024, which we can say and guarantee, that it has been a great joy for MIE, but also for all Albanians who access the Dibra area , since December 26, we have completed the excavations in Murrizi Tunnel. I have been following that process since May 2019. Not a single penny has been spent from the state budget to support delays for Arbri Street. In December 2024, maybe even sooner, with the completion of the Morrizi tunnel where hundreds of tons of iron have been thrown to hold and guarantee it, the Arbri Road will be finished," she said.

Balluku further underlined that the Great Ring of Tirana will be completed in December 2024. She underlined that the first phases of Corridor 8 will be delivered. According to her, the Orikum-Dukat, Palasë-Dërmi axes, the road connecting the Vlora airport with the Fier-Vlora highway, the Qafa e Buallit - Martanesh axis and the Korçë-Ersekë road are nearing completion.

"The big ring of Tirana will absorb all the traffic coming from the highways, it will also end in December 2024. Tourists will not have to cross the city in between, but using this big ring, they can access different points . The first phases of Corridor 8 will be delivered, we also finish the Orikum-Dukat connections. Palas-Dërmi is almost finished. Korëë-Ersekë is also towards the end, Qafa e Buallit - Martanesh, a road requested by the residents will also be delivered. The road that connects the Vlora airport with the Fier-Vlora highway is another axis that is handed over. In 2024, we will start the approval phase for Vlora airport. All of these also have an innovative element that will be delivered during 2024, the traffic monitoring center. Monitoring will also consist of Emergencies, Civil Emergencies, State Police and many other bodies.
