"Primaries? Management was needed to avoid creating divisions"/ Alimehmeti: The race is on May 11th!

The Chairman of the DP Councilors in the Municipality of Tirana, Krenar Alimehmeti, in a recent television appearance, commented on the primaries held over the weekend by the Democratic Party. Alimehmeti described the process as transparent while emphasizing that it had to be managed well in order not to create divisions among the Democrats, since the real race is the one on May 11.

"On Saturday, democracy won. The names were proposed by the DP branches in Tirana and throughout Albania. The list was proposed by the party structures. It was a competition between us and it puts the structure in a kind of friction and therefore good management was needed, which does not create divisions.

"The real race is on May 11. The process was transparent. Those who won in the primaries, I don't believe they are afraid, since they have the vote of the membership," said Alimehmeti. /CNA
