Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted after the appointment of prosecutor Klodjan Braho as head of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime.

In his post on the "X" platform, Rama states that the new leader takes over from Altin Dumani, whom he said deserves congratulations for the undeniable achievements of SPAK in the three years of his leadership. The head of government emphasizes that SPAK will continue to have the unwavering support of the government.

"Good luck to the new director of SPAK, who was elected today among four candidates to further the work of the institution's third mandate, taking over from the current director, who deserves congratulations for the undeniable achievements of SPAK in the three years of his leadership. SPAK has had, has and will have the unwavering support of our governing majority, to fulfill its mission independently and under optimal conditions," Rama's post reads.

Prosecutor Klodjan Braho received 7 votes, Adnan Xholi 3 votes, Elvin Gokaj 1 vote and Doloreza Musabelliu no votes. Braho will succeed Altin Dumani as head of SPAK. Klodjan Braho's mandate at the head of SPAK will be 3 years. Braho is the third head of SPAK since the establishment of the new justice institutions. Braho's two predecessors are Altin Dumani and Arben Kraja. /CNA
