The Political Leader of the Democratic Party for Korça District, Ivi Kaso, spoke after the presentation with the party's structures.

He commented on the confrontation with Niko Pelesh and the state of the structures in this region, he also spoke about the fate of the Democratic Party, which risks remaining with its leader under "house arrest" during the election campaign.

Kaso said that the DP structures are motivated to confront the majority.

" Today, two important leadership meetings were held, one with the leadership of the Korca branch and the other with the leadership of the Pogradec branch. I believe that not only my candidacy as a candidate for district leader was welcomed, but above all the new commitment of the DP to give a new image to the process of its internal reorganization and the process of preparation for the next election battle for the Assembly elections. I saw all the motivated structures, which, not only in the last elections of 2021, have achieved a good result in this district, but above all are committed to making the great promise for all Albanians a reality. This promise comes from the Democratic Party and the united opposition, with the aim of ensuring political rotation in the next elections.

This was the first meeting, but these meetings, together with other members of the working group, district deputies and other senior leaders of the structures, will become more frequent starting next week. We will be on the ground, in a daily conversation and engagement with the structures at the base. This will happen not only for the process of internal reorganization of the structures of the Democratic Party, but above all for a continuous dialogue with the citizens, in order to be as close as possible to their problems and, as much as possible, to We stand by them for every daily challenge, which for them is a battle of survival and constant confrontation.

The last election battle of the DP, for the local government elections, was not easy at all. As is well known, the PD faced the aggression of the majority, in completely unequal conditions, in all the country's municipalities. DP competed without its logo, symbol and seal. They were denied commissioners, television time, funding and, above all, the name of the historical leader and the elected leaders of the DP on the ballot. So, the election battle was not equal and does not reflect what the future election battle will be. The confrontation in this district is not reduced to a confrontation of names, but to a confrontation of philosophies: the philosophy of a subject that comes alongside the citizens, committed to ensure change, and the philosophy of a power that has all the powers, but which, as show the citizens of this district, it has done very little to improve their lives.

For more than 9 months, the head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has been under politically motivated 'house arrest' due to political persecution and the use of justice as an instrument. Now he also faces an official charge, which appears as a direct investment of the majority. The Democratic Party would be different in relation to the citizens and the enthusiasm it would arouse, if the leader's contact with the citizens was more direct. However, this does not change the fact that we have an outstanding, motivated leader who, despite the challenges, continues to lead the DP to victory in the upcoming elections. Sali Berisha will be the one who will lead the final battle for the victory of DP and to take the responsibility of leading the country, taking it out of the current situation.

In relation to our commitments in today's meetings with the heads of the branches, the process that precedes the elections is that of refreshing and reorganizing the DP structures. In some cases there may be shortages, which will be filled as soon as possible. On the other hand, we will do what is possible to ensure the union of every democrat around the DP flag, including those who have not been part of the official structures. These two processes will run parallel and will be concluded as soon as possible, to return the structures of the DP to an electoral machine ready for the next elections ", declared Kaso./ CNA
