The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted after the Assembly decided not to send the mandate of MP Olta Xhaçka to the Constitutional Court for verification.

According to Bardhi, the decision of the socialists is a constitutional coup that gives Xhaçka the status of untouchable by justice.

He said that Albania, which intends to join the EU, is no different from authoritarian countries, as it has violated the basic principles of the rule of law.

"With Edi Rama's political vote in the Assembly yesterday, the Justice Reform was finally executed. The constitutional coup of the Assembly ignoring the authority of the Constitutional Court is unprecedented in 34 years, unprecedented and worthy only of dictatorial regimes.

Edi Rama's propaganda for special commissions for the Rule of Law was finally buried yesterday. All those who suspected that the ER says one thing and does another, received the final answer with yesterday's vote, where for the second time the ER refused to execute the decisions of the CJK.

The personal state has nothing to do with the legal state. A candidate country for the EU and a NATO member country has kicked the elementary principles of the rule of law in front of every Albanian and international. Since yesterday, Albania has no difference with authoritarian countries!
