"We want justice"/ Teliti: Veliaj gives millions of euros for incinerators and non-competitive contracts
The vice president of the Municipal Council of Tirana,...

On September 8, the mayor, Erion Veliaj, posted a photo on social networks and said that Tirana is listed in the "top-10" of European capitals with the largest urban tree coverage. ( Read here )

According to the logic that Erion Veliaj says, the tenth for trees in Europe, we should have the air standard of these 9 other countries.
That's why we need greenery, that's why we need trees to clean the air, to have more oxygen and for the city to be cleaner.
In fact, there are many other factors that affect air pollution, such as garbage, construction, dust, etc.
CNA issued a document yesterday that shows that Tirana is the most polluted city in Europe. The numbers show that the capital has a red line in terms of environmental pollution. ( Read here )
We are looking at the air quality in these European cities, according to the ranking made by Erion Veliaj.
We are only taking the last 3 places, 7th, 8th and 9th, how is the air quality according to the trees they have since Tirana is ranked 10th.
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, ranked seventh, has much better air quality than Tirana. While for Tirana the pollution of Tirana is 171, for Sofia the pollution is only 43 and does not bring any risks.

Zagreb, Croatia, which ranks eighth, has even cleaner air. In Zagreb, pollution is only 23.

On the other hand, the ninth capital, Vilnius of Lithuania has 70 pollution .

Also, we are looking at the 11th or 12th, and the 13th, Pristina, Rome and Berlin.
Prishtina has pollution 49, Rome 21 and Berlin 32.

So it seems clear that the air quality in these cities, 3 of which are above us and 3 below us, is much cleaner precisely because there are more trees.
Now how Erion Veliaj recorded it and how this calculation of trees came out is another story, but the air quality reveals the truth. ( Read here )
Also, we are faced with the fact that Erion Veliaj, even though it is the 10th, has more polluted air than those who are below or are closer to it and for this the municipality is responsible , for a Tirana that is not cleaned, for a Tirana with concrete and dust, for a Tirana with heavy traffic and chaos, for a dirty and unwashed Tirana, which only gets clean when it rains, because the companies that cleaned the capital did not wash the streets, the dust, the mud and construction takes over the capital.

The facts are there, the trees are not what Veliaj says.
In 11 years, if he had planted so many trees, Tirana would have a different air, since the pollution that happens to it would be cleaned from them.
Tirana not only has fewer trees, but also has a more polluted air because it has a mayor who instead of solving problems always tries to lie.
This time neither the opposition nor the media say it, the fact of polluted air is shown by one of the world's most reliable applications and we did nothing else, just compared them.
Now let Erion Veliaj continue to lie with his propaganda./ CNA
