Peleshi: We are working for the military port of Porto Romano to be used by NATO

The opening ceremony of the NATO tactical air base in Kuçovo has started. The Brass Band of the Armed Forces performed first the NATO anthem, and then the Albanian anthem.

During his speech, the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, said that the opening of the NATO air base in Kuçovo is an asset for the entire region. 

He emphasized that Albania will continue its efforts for the military port of Porto Romano to be used by NATO. 

"The base that we are inaugurating today is an asset for the entire region. Albania will continue its efforts to put the military port of Porto Romano in use by NATO and, together with Strategic Corridor 8, provides our alliance with the most short passage from the shores of the Adriatic to the Black Sea. We need international support for this project", said Peleshi. /CNA
