The Albanian Parliament today rejected the Democratic Party's request to include the election of the Ombudsman on the agenda.
The request was raised by MP Gazment Bardhi, but it was not approved.
In today's plenary session, a brief discussion was held on the election of the head of the Ombudsman institution.
The head of the SP parliamentary group, Niko Peleshi, explained during his speech that the SP refused to vote in favor, as the dialogue process between the SP and the DP has not developed.
"We have requested to build a message according to parliamentary tradition. There are several proposals with opposition signatures and a process is needed to discuss and reach a consensus. We have not made our proposals, but we want to discuss the opposition's proposals, we have no reaction from the DP group and the opposition and that today the process can start and we can vote on it in the next session after the elections", - said Peleshi. /CNA
