KAS makes the decision/ Ballot boxes will be opened in the Tirana district

The Complaints and Sanctions Commission has made the decision to open the ballot boxes in the Tirana District. Specifically, 1282 VCs will be recounted throughout the Tirana District, for parties and candidates.

"Today, KAS began reviewing appeal request no. 48, dated 29.05.2025, filed by the Democratic Party - Alliance for Greater Albania Coalition with the following object:

1. Objection to Decision No. 1326, dated 24.05.2025, of the SEC "On the approval of the Summary Table of Voting Results in the Tirana District electoral zone, for electoral entities and candidates for deputies in the elections for the Assembly of May 1, 2025".

2. Invalidity of the elections held on May 11, 2025 in the Qarku - Tirana electoral zone.

3. Resolving the consequences by ordering the rerun of the elections for the Assembly of Albania in the entire Tirana District electoral zone.

By a majority vote, KAS rejected the request of the DP-ASHM Coalition to inspect the ballot boxes for the Tirana district.

Also, based on article 136, point 3 of the Electoral Code, members Mr. Elvis Çefa and Mr. Ledio Braho requested that the ballot boxes for the Tirana district be inspected.
