"We made justice independent of politics"/ Rama: The SP entered the

Prime Minister Edi Rama declared today that granting the independence of the judiciary from political power was a very cruel test and that the Socialist Party decided to enter the sea with its feet. Rama made this statement during a meeting with candidates in Shkodra.

Rama said that politics has handed over the sword to justice, which can now hand down punishments.

Rama said that previously there had only been people convicted by the head of government and not by the judicial system.

Rama stated that it had never before been seen that MPs and ministers were questioned by the prosecutor's office, let alone convicted by the courts.

"Today we are here, you and I, who are the guarantors that this will be so. We have the power, we have handed over the sword of punishment that is normally in the hands of justice, not of political power, but which was actually in my office before I was there, it was in the office of the one before me until 1912, from the first governments, to the king, the dictator, justice was under the orders of political power.

He did his own thing when he had no connection to political power. You all know Altin Dumani, but he is not 22 years old. He may have been a prosecutor for 20 years. Had you heard of him before? Had you seen before that any minister or person with power who came and went on TV would go and give an account to the prosecutor's office, be sentenced in court or escape.

"Not even your parents or grandparents had seen it. There were only people convicted by the head of government. The Socialist Party decided to enter the sea on foot and take on the wildest challenge to make justice independent of political power," said Rama. /CNA
