Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that the May 11 elections will mark Albania's final break from isolation with the continent. Rama made this statement from Shkodra, where he is presenting the candidates for MPs today.
In his speech, Rama emphasized the economic importance of being part of the large family of the European Union.
Rama focused on the numerous benefits offered by the country's EU membership, in terms of economic and financial aspects.
Rama stated that an important aspect is receiving the annual budget from the EU, which serves for a series of investments.
"On May 11, the final break from the hundreds of years of history of being alone is realized.
And we must enter the phase of being one with our continent.
We will be part of a family where we will have the opportunity to be in the part of that family that is the beneficiary.
"And by joining that family, where the largest and most developed countries take care of the smaller ones, we receive an extra budget every year," Rama said. /CNA
