"Social package for Albanians"/ Rama from Burreli: We do not tell

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today in Burrel to present the Social Packages for citizens. This package focuses on children with disabilities, women, youth and the elderly, starting with healthcare, social housing, employment support and special bonuses according to categories.

In his speech, Rama focused on two categories that need to be changed: the baby bonus and pensions.

Rama stated that the baby bonus program will be redesigned starting in 2026. Regarding the review of pensions, he called those who receive less than they have fewer declared years of work victims of absurd and criminal politics.

Rama added that these are two of the main battles.

"We will deepen the package, aiming to open more avenues for promoting employment and removing those who are able to work from economic assistance. We will double the support for children with special needs and their mothers. We will redesign the baby bonus program starting in 2026, and instead of financial assistance by check, we will move forward with another more advanced scheme according to the number of children, with monthly payments for two, three and five years."

According to the number of children, whoever does more, we will stay closer to them. We have done the project and we have 20 social enterprises for women's employment, which is very important.

The main battle is pensions. We did not want to tell tales, there are others who are more capable of this. It is certain that nothing is in our hands and nothing will be in our hands. On the other hand, it is clear to us that the victims of the absurd and criminal policy with pensions and the pensioners until we made the reform who today do not benefit from a dignified pension, while those who have retired and are retiring after the reform have other pensions. This is not mentioned.

"There was no pension policy, but madness, and people were retired at the age of 40, a higher pension ceiling of 200 thousand was set, and it no longer mattered if you had paid insurance, you could not exceed 200 thousand lek," Rama said. /CNA
