The OSCE-ODIHR Mission to Albania has published its pre-election report and provided recommendations for the parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025.
The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) undertook a mission to Albania from December 3 to 6, 2024, with senior officials of this mission present and numerous meetings with various groups in the country, and today the report was published with important details ahead of the electoral process.
The purpose of the mission was to assess the pre-election environment and preparations for the elections.
The report recommends the preparation of a group of 26 observers with a long-term mandate and 300 with a short-term mandate.
“ODIHR recommends sending 26 long-term observers from OSCE participating States to follow the election process throughout the country, as well as 300 short-term observers to monitor election day procedures, including voting, vote counting, and tabulation of results,” the report says.
