For the first time, in the parliamentary elections on May 11, Albanians living abroad will also be able to vote. The Central Election Commission has started work to approve emigrants' requests to register, while so far the number of those seeking to register has reached 16,090.
According to official data received from the CEC, so far 2,423 requests out of 16,090 have been approved. While 424 of them have been rejected, there are also those who will need to update their documents to receive full confirmation later.
In the CEC statistics, it is striking that the majority of these requests come from Italy (30.1%), followed by Greece (21.3%) and Germany (16.2%).
