Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in her speech at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 Global Summit, focused on the trilateral agreement for the underwater energy connection between Albania and Italy. She described this project as very ambitious.
"I am personally proud of this initiative, which tangibly demonstrates how new forms of cooperation can be built even between partners who may seem distant, at least geographically."
According to Meloni, "this initiative is a concrete step towards global connectivity."
"A new energy interconnection, to produce green energy in Albania and export part of it to Italy, thanks to a submarine cable in the Adriatic. A project that involves our three governments, as well as our private sectors and our network operators."
Even the head of government , Edi Rama, described the agreement between Italy, the United Arab Emirates and our country as strategic./CNA
