Meta, calling on MPs not to vote on the draft law on cannabis: We are a drug

The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, in an appearance for the media, called on the deputies not to vote in the Assembly on the draft law on the legalization of cannabis for medical purposes.

Meta, while underlining the UN report, said that Albania is a transit country for cocaine and heroin.

"The UN office in the latest drug report clearly states that Albania is a major transit country for cocaine and heroin. The connections of drug traffickers are found to be direct with Colombia and Bolivia ", said Meta.

Meta said that Albania has been deliberately left in this situation so that there is no control by the authorities.

According to the head of the PL, the American DEA is concerned about the drug situation in Albania and seeks help and cooperation with the citizens.

"Albanian traffickers play a major role in international drug trafficking. It is estimated that the Albanian groups have extended their chain of purchase, distribution, and transport throughout Europe ," said Meta.

At the end of the statement, he threw direct accusations at the prime minister, where he said that the legalization of cannabis is the tax that Rama is paying to drug gangs for their service in the elections.
