Kreu i Partisë së Lirisë Ilir Meta në fjalën e tij në Konventën e PL-së u shpreh se në Venecia është derdhur para e madhe kundër tij kur ky ka qenë president. 

Ai tha se kurrë nuk e ka shkelur Kushtetutën dhe këtë e tregoi edhe Komisioni i Venecias edhe pse Balla shkonte dhe lobonte për të kundërtën. 

"Regjimi kërkon të marrë edhe vulën e PL-së. Regjimi mafizos ka kapur çdo instrument. Kërkon të shuajë opozitarimin. Agaçi duhet të kishte vajtur 100 herë në burg për inceneratorët për PPP-të. Gabimin e bëra që natën e zgjedhjeve, pasi u zgjodha në 2 të natës në Vlorë, se ikja të bëja presion ndaj mafias dhe Mcgonigal, që nxitën gjakrat në Kavajë apo vrasjen e në Elbasan, që kishin plan ta linin opozitën me 20 mandate, unë i vetëm bëja presionin që duhet të bëja për të shpëtuar pluralizmin. Më dhimbsej partia ime që kisha krijuar, me po po, jo-jo. Kush është me Ilir Metën, nëse votohet president, do të rrijë me Ilir Metën. Kush nuk është jep dorën dhe ikën. ", u shpreh Meta./CNA
