Meta, Rama's lecture from prison for pensioners

The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, reacted from prison regarding the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Through a letter, Meta says that Rama always impoverished the pensioners even more in 11 years.

He calculates how pensions should be increased year after year, taking into account the increase in prices.

According to him, the indexation and real increase of pensions in total should be 84% by the end of 2024 compared to the end of 2013.

In three mandates, no one prevented Edi Rama from actually increasing pensions.

In his 11 years in power, he always impoverished pensioners even more, who today are the most discriminated, excluded and poorest social category of society.

The electoral pills of pension indexation at the rate of 4.1% and the "year-end bonus" are nothing but heartless mockery and the biggest humiliation that he does to 791 thousand pensioners of all categories.

There is no truer indicator than pensions to understand what Edi Rama and "Rilindja" have done with Albanian taxes, especially by deepening the public debt not to increase the welfare of pensioners and all citizens but to continue payments for PPPs and corrupt concessions, i.e. to steal with incinerators, golden roads and secret tenders.

The government would have to increase the level of pensions by at least 9.4% or equal to the level of inflation for food items to prevent the deterioration of the cost of living and above this indexation and a real increase to benefit this layer from the economic growth in the rate of 3.4% for 2023.

The government owes each pensioner in urban areas an average of 9,546 ALL per month and in rural areas 5,752 ALL due to the lack of full indexation based on the inflation of food items and the lack of pension growth due to economic growth.

Albanian pensioners today are poorer than in 2013 when "Rilindja" came to power.

The figures are many times more true than the cynical propaganda of the "Renaissance".

The government would have to consider the real economic growth in the period 2013-2023, including the increase in 2024 to the extent of 40.8%, as well as the indexation of pensions to about 43% to cover the increase in prices, including food prices, in the increase of pensions. the period until September 2024.

In total, indexation and the real increase in pensions should be 84% by the end of 2024 compared to the end of 2013.

This means that currently in urban areas the average old-age pension should be at the level of 28,638 ALL per month, while it is currently 19,092 ALL per month.

While in rural areas, the old age pension should currently be at the level of 17,256 ALL per month, while it is currently 11,504 ALL per month.

In relation to the amount of pension in the countries of the region, the difference has deepened significantly and is much larger.

The average urban and rural old age pension in Albania is currently 170 Euros, while in Kosovo it is 340 Euros, in Montenegro it is 450 Euros, in North Macedonia it is 325 Euros and in Serbia it is 390 Euros.

The pensioners who today are given alms equal to 25 lek per day and are only promised an electoral "bonus" at the end of the year know very well that the misuse and robbery of Albanians' taxes by the "Rilindja" gang is over 1 billion euros in year.

We are humbly grateful to the generation that has done so much for Albania and doubling pensions is not only one of our 5 major priorities, but a necessity.

The Freedom Party in government will make it possible:

1. Doubling pensions and increasing them equal to the regional average, based on the level of real economic growth.

2. The full indexation of the amount of pensions by calculating the indexation based on the inflation of food items.

3. Frequent indexation within the year of the amount of pensions in cases of crises or pandemics due to the rapid increase in prices.

Full financial coverage of all medicines used by pensioners and prescribed by medical prescription.

Coverage of all medical and nursing services in the residence for pensioners with health problems.

Giving priority medical service to pensioners to avoid long waits in health centers or hospitals.

Provision of free medical services for rehabilitation and physiotherapy for pensioners with disabling diseases.

Free provision of medical materials for the treatment of retired patients at home, as well as medical items (crutches, wheelchairs, orthopedic beds), which enable the movement and life independence of pensioners.
