"Opened the bag of lies"/ Teliti: Rama plunged pensioners into poverty

The advisor for economic issues in DP, Dorian Teliti, spoke about the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama in the show Opinion, as well as their confrontation with pensioners.

Teliti said that Rama, embarrassed by the pensioners, opened the bag of lies last night.

"Using in an intentional, but completely incorrect, two different rates of exchange rates, Edi Rama stated that in 2013, the last year of Sali Berisha's government, pensions were in the amount of 100 euros. This is a lie.

In 2013, after several years of aggressive policy of increasing pensions during the government of the Democratic Party, urban pensions were 140,000 lek, or 140 euros at today's exchange rate. During the 8-year government of Sali Berisha, pensions were doubled," Teliti said.

Dorjan Teliti's statement.

Last night in the next televsion, we saw the disgraced Prime Minister pitted against the whole world, from the opposition to the pensioners who can barely afford medicine and bread. The revolt of the latter against the main responsible for the abandonment and plunging into poverty of 790 thousand Albanian pensioners, you saw clearly last night on the show 'Opinion'.

Faced with bitter truths, uttered by the mouths of the suffering and despised pensioners themselves, the head of the government since September 2013 turned on the propaganda microphone and opened the bag of lies.

Pensioners speak Albanian, receive their pension in Lek, pay for food, medicine and bills in Lek, and every calculation and comparison must be made in the national currency.

But Rama does the calculations in euros because with this currency he keeps in offshore banks what he steals from pensioners and all Albanians.

By deliberately, but completely incorrectly, using two different rates of exchange rates, Edi Rama stated that in 2013, the last year of Sali Berisha's government, pensions were in the amount of 100 euros.

This is a lie. In 2013, after several years of an aggressive policy of increasing pensions during the Democratic Party government, urban pensions were 140,000 lek, or 140 euros at today's exchange rate. During the 8-year government of Sali Berisha, pensions were doubled.

Meanwhile, the question for Rama is: How much have you increased your pensions during these 12 years? What happened to the prices of the food basket?

In these three mandates, according to the official data of INSTAT, the prime minister's own statistics office, current pensions, including the famous indexation of 4.1% entered into force 1 month ago, the average urban pensions today are no higher than 190 thousand old ALL, from 140 thousand that were 11 years ago.

Clear and simple arithmetic, in these 3 mandates, urban pensions have increased by less than 35%, while food prices have increased by 2-3 times depending on the type of products.

Pensioners are plunged into poverty, that's why they reacted like that last night in 'Opinion'.

This is the truth, which everyone knows, pensioners yes and yes, that they suffer from the abandonment of the government.

Finally, even the governors themselves are aware of this truth, so they have taken on the political mission of centrally directed scheduled meetings with the pensioners and entrepreneurs of the country, even threatening the latter.

Dear citizens, the fight against poverty cannot be won with propaganda or trendy jokes.

There is only one solution today to say stop abandonment, stop misery, stop poverty, and the solution is the proposal of the Democratic Party for the establishment an hour earlier of the vital minimum.

The financial opportunities are there, it is enough to give up the unbridled government luxuries, from the tenders of hundreds of millions of euros predetermined and without competition, from the financing of concessional PPP contracts entirely clientelistic and corrupt, from the greed to devour state finances and property./ CNA
