Messages/Politics in Pogradec celebrates Independence Day separately

The political forces in Pogradec celebrated November 28 separately, where from 10:00 a.m. the ceremony of raising the flag from the Municipality of Pogradec started in front of the institution where municipality officials and Socialist Party functionaries were present. Entela Gusho, the deputy mayor of the municipality, wished the holidays to all Albanian citizens.

"On this beautiful day, special for the entire Albanian nation, Independence Day, my congratulations are for all Albanians wherever they are. Let's love Albania, love the flag and not abandon Albania. To be here, to build our future, to build our children's lives together. I think that Pogradec deserves to celebrate this day with greatness because it is different from other cities. The flag has been raised here since the 28th In July 1912, and then with the two delegates Hajdar Blloshmi and Mustafa Baruti, the road to Independence continued," she said.

The anti-communists and political persecuted together with the Democratic Party held tributes for the fifth year in a row near the cemetery of the martyrs in the city of Pogradec.

Meanwhile, the general chairman of the anti-communist association of the politically persecuted, Et'hem Fezollari, said that paying homage on this day was chosen because the martyrs also contributed to the freedom and independence of this country.

"Pogradec is the most organized in the entire Republic in terms of finding the remains of those killed by the dictatorship. Every year we have honored our martyrs by making the obelisk which shows all the names of those killed. Today, the members of their families, gather to affirm that we have forgiven the deeds of communism, but we have not forgotten them. Therefore, we will continue to honor these people who have fought and given their lives for democracy 221 killed by the dictatorship and a good part of them rest in this cemetery. We invited the local government, the mayor, the political parties, but unfortunately they do not participate. They still think that we are the enemies of the people, we know that we have been killed against fascism, and later against communism. We chose November 28 for homage because these people were killed for Albania's freedom and Flag Day is the most sacred for us," he stressed. he.

Genti Çela, head of the PD of the Pogradec branch, was also present, who expressed his congratulations, but when asked why this day is being celebrated divided between political factors in Pogradec, he chose not to comment.

"On behalf of the DP, I wish you a happy November 28, also as a tribute to those who fell during the communist system and that in their model of resistance, we continue today more or less in the same conditions where we have to fight for freedom above all and to continue our resistance in front of the sons of the communists of that time. With the model of those who fell for the country, prisoners, those who died in prisons and exiles, whose only fault was the love of the country, let me wish you all today on this great day of Albania: Happy Independence of Albania everyone, let's see Albania together. Today should be a day of unity so let me wish you left, right, and left party, happy Independence", underlined Çela.

For 5 years in a row in Pogradec, November 28th is celebrated in different places by political actors, unlike the city of Korça, where representatives from different parties participate during the flag-raising activity./ CNA
