The appeal of GJKKO has decided to release from house arrest the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, an important change in the political life of the right when we are about 6 months from holding the 2025 parliamentary elections.

In an interview for CNA TV, the DP deputy for the district of Fier, Luan Baçi, described Berisha's 11-month imprisonment as an injustice that will be remembered for a long time, which caused Berisha's absence from the Parliament but also from the DP. Baçi blames Prime Minister Edi Rama for this.

"An injustice that will be remembered for a long time, that was done to the opposition in Albania and the PD in particular. The unjust 11-month house arrest of the leader of the opposition and DP is one of the biggest injustices that could have ever existed. Shamefully, politically influenced prosecutors and judges, mercenaries in the hands of the prime minister managed to do such injustice. I would call Dr. Berisha's physical absence in Parliament and DP a colossal damage. A damage caused by this absence, intentionally by Prime Minister Edi Rama and other international influences that have been present in the fight that has been done to the DP to undo the opposition and to create a false opposition, to guarantee a the fourth term of a corrupt prime minister such as Edi Rama.

Asked about the trust that the PD and the opposition as a whole have in the justice system, after many statements against the decisions, but also congratulations for the decisions in favor of the opposition, Baçi said that the PD has done nothing but denounce facts that have struck in unfairly the PD.

"The Democratic Party has been unfairly attacked by prosecutors and judges. There were no attacks and accusations, but concrete facts that we denounced. There has come a moment when in the justice system there are prosecutors and judges with integrity, honest and independent who, even in the conditions of the attack they have from their bosses and from the current government, have overcome this fear and have implemented the law, they have not done honor to the PD, they have done their duty. Likewise, the judge who released Berisha and called the house arrest decision illegal should be congratulated for following the law, she did not honor Sali Berisha or the PD.

We also have other decisions on very serious corruption cases where the decisions are unfair. The incinerator court process, with millions of euros of abuses and to pass so simply and easily with a cursory investigation by passing some individuals to court processes to convict them without putting them in a structured criminal group as they really were. In the 2025 budget, 1.3 billion ALL have been provided by Edi Rama's thieves for the non-existent Tirana incinerator. In this regard, we have not attacked, but we have denounced with facts that this justice has acted and acts with double standards according to political interests and influences.
