The founder of the "Albania Becomes" political movement, Adriatik Lapaj, held a conversation with farmers and breeders of the villages of Drenovicë, Samaticë, Gorican, Kutalli, Pobrat and Rërëz.

Lapaj spoke about the subsidies and raised the concern that farmers and ranchers do not receive any help from the state.

According to him, the state budget for agriculture, animal husbandry, fishing goes for salaries in offices and for only a few selected people.

"It turns out that your entire area has an area of ??about 500 hectares of greenhouses, which produce annually, now that we are talking about 80 thousand tons of vegetables. In terms of market value, in the markets where they are sold, they translate to 50.6 million euros, or in other words, about 60 billion ALL. The Albanian economy receives these ALL from these villages, how much does it give back through financing or subsidies? How much does it give back to ordinary farmers through infrastructure?

There are things that have been done, but we have the opportunity to do much more in this country. What is the solution? Production subsidy. We cannot tax agriculture, livestock, fishing or beekeeping, because no normal developed country taxes them. On the contrary, it subsidizes them.

How many of you here in the last 5 years have received subsidies for plastic? How many of you have received subsidies for chemical fertilizers? How many subsidies have they received for milk? So, the ordinary citizen who works the land and keeps the cattle of this country does not get anything. I am giving you some figures from INSTAT. The state budget for agriculture, animal husbandry, fishing in total will be 130 million euros. Of these 100 million euros go to salaries in the offices, only 30 million euros go to the farmer, the cattle breeder, who, as you know, don't even go there, but go to five grains.

On the other hand, farmers and ranchers shared their concerns and problems, and appreciated the fact that someone went to meet them outside the electoral campaign.

How many times do campaigns come, make their promises, leave, the campaign passes, the four-year period passes, eight, twelve are now happening, and we remain in number, it would even be good if we were in number, because we are making a big regression. We are being robbed day by day, no one appreciates our work and we are being oppressed. We are being treated like that animal, like that horse, for not to say like that donkey who steals his work and insults and despises him", said a farmer./ CNA
