"What do you say? See you tomorrow"/ Rama announces Tuesday's communication with citizens

Adriatik Lapaj did not leave unexpressed today the next claims from the May 11 elections, from which he failed to receive a mandate, because his party was entitled to 6 mandates.
Invited to a television show, Lapaj blamed the current electoral system and the threshold set for the result, which according to him have caused thousands of votes to remain unrepresented, while his party has received a total of only one mandate from the parliamentary elections.
"We should have won 6 mandates. Then, everything depends on the electoral threshold. There are countries where this threshold is 3% and if it were the same in our country, we would have won 6 mandates."
There are countries that have a 5% threshold. With the votes we received, we wouldn't have passed that threshold by much.
But if the system were proportional at the national level, we would have passed it, especially in areas with large populations, like Tirana. There are republics that apply different thresholds, but if we had a national proportional system, the result would be completely different. Many people probably did not vote because they thought that it would not translate into mandates. If they had voted, the result would have been different. To put it bluntly, there are also those who think that the votes we received did not translate into mandates.
In fact, the votes we received represent 6 to 7 mandates. For example, the Socialist Party in the Vlora region, with 64,500 votes, received 9 mandates, while we, with 64,268 votes, received only 1 mandate and there is a very important detail here, we do not only have 64,268 votes, we also have over 15,000 votes that have been declared invalid. We are the party with the largest number of invalid votes in these elections.
Because when SP representatives went to the field, e.g. in Mirdita, and met citizens who had decided to vote for General Ded Prenga, they would tell them: “Okay, vote for General Ded Prenga as a candidate, but as a party, vote for the Socialist Party, number 5.”
As a result, General Ded Prenga has hundreds and hundreds of votes in Mirdita that have been declared invalid due to this strategy. And throughout Albania, we have over 15,000 citizens' will votes that have been burned by this manipulation. So, in total, we are talking about about 80,000 citizens' wills that have been ignored.
"Vote for Lapaj's candidate, but not the party. Give the party to the SP... and that's how over 15,000 votes have been burned," Lapaj said./CNA
