"Storm in a teacup" for Spaç prison/The opposition must

Today, the leader of the Democrat Party, Berisha, held a conference , where, among other things, he mentioned the "storm in a teacup" that has arisen in connection with the Spaç prison, the revolt that took place in that prison, but also the painful history of thousands and thousands of victims of the dictatorship, imprisoned, shot, tortured who suffered under the communist regime .

There is a debate about whether this prison should be restored, turned into a museum or left as archaeological ruins, etc. But beyond the "storm in a teacup" that has been raised by some half-truths, today former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has taken a stand accusing the Socialist government and Prime Minister Edi Rama in relation to what is happening in Spaç prison .

In fact, the truth is that a film is being made about the history of that prison, there are also some places that are being adapted as in the '70s and then will return to their current state. A film that will tell the painful history and crimes that occurred in Spaç prison, but also a historical revolt that took place there.

In fact, the appearance of former Prime Minister Berisha has a detail that makes the difference in such public debates, where half-truths tend to triumph, to turn into lies. Sali Berisha has been president for 5 years and prime minister for 8 years. There is a simple question, beyond politics.

What was the only effort the Democratic Party government made to preserve that area?

To conserve the entire territory where there is now only debris, dirt, and snakes. What did he do? It could have been rehabilitated during the DP era, preserved, repaired, turned into a museum, photos of the victims, the persecuted, the indictments they had, etc.

There are many ways. This film-museum of dictatorship, of crimes, could have been chosen, as there are in many Eastern European countries, but the DP did not do it while it was in power .

Today, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha continues to say:

It is indirectly using a pretext to cover up the tracks, to protect the executioners of the dictatorship.  It is a second-hand account of the ordeal that took place in that camp, and Edi Rama thinks that with plaster he can erase the work of his barbaric fathers.

It is simply Edi Rama's attempt to cover up with plaster and paint the terrible tragedy that happened in that camp, to hundreds and thousands of Albanians.  It is further evidence that, as this descendant of an executioner of the communist dictatorship, he is trying to diminish the inhuman acts of that regime that he called; the right side of history.

In fact, the truth is quite different. Beyond the hotheads who want debates even when there is no room for debate, what is most painful in this whole story is that the DP itself, which claims to be the party of former political persecuted people, whom it was never able to compensate, left Spaç prison or any other prison in that state .

Or to turn the inhuman torture chambers into museums of memory, as they should actually be .

But now when something is attempted to be done, although the government does not seem to have any funds or a clear vision of what will happen to Spaç prison, the opposition rises up and plays political games for what it could not do itself, when in fact it should have apologized again to the politically persecuted and then given its version of what the solution should be./ CNA
