The Council of the European Union has approved the Growth Plan for the countries of the Western Balkans, a new instrument to support EU-related reforms and economic growth in the region.

Regarding this decision, Prime Minister Edi Rama says in a post on "X" that this marks an important historical moment that precedes the start of its implementation, for which we are fully prepared and enthusiastic.

According to the head of government, the Growth Plan injects new momentum into the enlargement process, with a special emphasis on key areas such as the rule of law, transparency and reforms.

"We welcome today's adoption by the European Council of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. This marks an important milestone leading up to the start of its implementation, for which we are fully prepared and enthusiastic.

The Growth Plan injects new momentum into the enlargement process, with a particular emphasis on core areas such as the rule of law, transparency and reforms. Moreover, it introduces new financial resources for BB6 countries, depending on their respective performance. Just great to see all this happening after you've been trying for a while! Thanks to everyone involved. Albania has presented an extremely ambitious Reform Agenda that will be executed over the next three years. This agenda aims to bring the country closer to the envisioned future as an integral part of the European family.
