EU integration/ Von Der Leyen meeting tomorrow with Rama and Bega

 

On Sunday afternoon, October 15, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will meet with the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, and the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, to discuss Albania's EU membership process.

After the meeting, von der Leyen and Prime Minister Rama will hold a press conference after their meeting, at 17:30. 

On Monday, President von der Leyen will join the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Verhelyi, to attend the Berlin Process Summit.

The summit will bring together heads of state or government from the Western Balkans.

The summit will be an opportunity to discuss with regional leaders the new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, currently being prepared by the Commission, which aims to bring some of the benefits of EU membership to the people of the Western Balkans already, through integration into the single market, regional economic cooperation and acceleration of fundamental reforms and increased financial support.

The plan will complement the support already provided within the EU Economic and Investment Plan of 30 billion euros launched in 2020, which has so far mobilized 16 billion euros in investments for key projects./ CNA
