Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted after the news published in the media about the incident with the journalist Ambrozia Meta.

Rama says that there is no reason to ask for forgiveness, as the allegations of her rape are a disgusting lie.

The head of the government declares that he did not show aggression, but patiently answered all the journalist's questions, for which he emphasizes that he made several unethical interruptions.

"Excuse me?! Apologies for a completely disgusting lie, while everything is on video and a dozen journalists and cameramen as well, are eyewitnesses to the simple truth that not only was there nothing approaching aggression, but I patiently answered all questions. (despite a few non-thetic interruptions) in a casual chat with the press and left after a friendly goodbye?! I'm not sorry and not only do I have no apologies to make, I reject the whole characterization of a "leader who has shown disdain for the critical press", which is simply not true because I have not engaged for many years now in any kind of legitimate heated debate with any journalist.

On the contrary, I indicate to many ethical and sometimes unethical journalists my full availability to answer all questions, although the latter category is used for disruptive and clearly outside any consistent standard cut of answers. We are sorry that such a "denunciation" does not respect the values ??of freedom nor the truth, but more than the denunciation of an imaginary aggression, it does not respect the real victims of power aggression against women journalists around the world. As for the "inexcusable" behavior, as a former pioneer of the free press in my country when my free speech endangered my life, I feel fully authorized to say that press organizations must take care to protect the values ??of freedom, democracy and journalistic integrity not only when threatened by the authorities, but also when undermined by members of the press community. Otherwise, our democratic societies are really in trouble", writes the head of government on social networks./ CNA
