Prime Minister Edi Rama, after the meeting with the district leaders of the SP, was asked why an international tender for the investment on the island of Sazan has not been announced.

Rama said that the investment in Sazan is not a tender, but it is a proposal that will be examined if it matches the government's vision.

"We do not choose people, we refer to the offers and proposals made to us based on the Albanian legislation. Transforming Sazan into a jewel in the golden crown of Mediterranean tourism is a long-standing ambition. For the sake of truth, previous governments have had it, it has not been done.

Today, Albania has become an address that is always in demand, not only by tourists, but also by investors. We are absolutely delighted to have a proposal. The proposal is not yet in the necessary process where several steps must be passed. An application has been made, we will consider it. If the project matches our vision, then it will move forward", he said.

He pointed at the critics, while emphasizing that with this project nothing that belongs to the Albanians will be forgiven.

"Latins have an expression, indictment is not an argument. As far as entrepreneurship developments based on foreign investments are concerned, all countries have favorable legislation and as far as developments in the tourism sector are concerned, it is a fierce competition as to who has the most favorable conditions to attract serious, large investors. It is not a question of forgiving anything that belongs to Albanians", Rama stressed./ CNA
