The deputy of the Democratic Party, Ina Zhupa, in a statement to the media requested that SPAK investigate the scheme of how money went to private companies connected to officials through contracts with the Municipality of Tirana.
According to Zhupa, a violation is the contract for receiving 12 vehicles with a loan contract from the Tirana incinerator concessionaire for the Municipal Police.
"At no point in the agreement did the incinerator of Tirana have these obligations, but neither was it related to cars on loan," says the deputy.
Full statement:
The relationship between the incinerator of Tirana and the Municipality of Tirana itself, as has been denounced day after day with facts and evidence from the Democratic Party, has not been simply and only related to the incineration of waste that never happened. But a relationship of readiness for the interests of the Municipality of Tirana, so much so that it could look like the dependency director who met the needs of the Mayor Veliaj rather than an institutional concessionary relationship.
The other relationship where the connection between the incinerator and the municipality of Tirana is clear, is the contract for the acquisition of 12 vehicles with a loan contract from the concessionaire of the Tirana Incinerator for the Municipal Police.
At no point in the agreement did the incinerator of Tirana have these obligations, nor was it related to cars on loan.
This is also explained by the fact that Integrated BV itself did not own these cars that it gave to the municipality for use, but was forced to enter into another agreement to rent these cars from a private company and then give them to the Municipality of Tirana. The private company that rented some of the cars from the incinerator, is Albarent, a company owned by the minister ready for the economy, Blendi Gonxhe, and managed at the time by his wife.
This relationship should be investigated by SPAK to find the answer to some very simple questions:
1- At what point in the contract did the incinerator of Tirana have this service with the Municipality of Tirana?
2- Who decided in Tirana Municipality that you should go to this concessionaire for an unrelated service?
3- Did the incinerator of Tirana perform other work for the Municipality of Tirana outside of the contract and which officials requested it and by which decision of the Municipality of Tirana?
4- Public money went to the incinerator without incineration and then went to the firms connected to a former official of the Tirana municipality, currently a government minister, was this a scheme to benefit from public money in the pockets of officials?
Four very simple questions that SPAK can investigate to clarify the other connections of Erion Veliaj, his directors and former directors with this affair. Where some of the protagonists, instead of being investigated by SPAK, are promoted by Rama as successful. The money that the incinerator paid was the money of the Albanian taxpayers./ CNA
