"The crime against the judge was glorified, this is alarming"/

The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, in his speech in the Assembly, said that the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja is alarming due to the fact that some people exalted and glorified the crime.

Gjiknuri said that the Parliament cannot be satisfied with empty rhetoric alone and that justice as an apple of discord does citizens a disservice.

 

" Justice issues, the implementation of reform are the Achilles heel of the justice system.

The murder of the judge was condemned, but a cynicism and glorification of the crime was observed, which is alarming for us as legislators.

The Assembly cannot be satisfied with empty rhetoric and we should not sit idly by just saying that justice is independent.

A cooperative relationship must be created and cooperation with all forces is needed, and the resolutions adopted must be unanimously approved.

Turning justice into a bone of contention is a negative service to citizens. This resolution presents valuable recommendations, the implementation of ICT in the judiciary is to be welcomed, but AI will also optimize services."

Gjiknuri called on justice institutions to cooperate on the Draft of the New Criminal Code and to put aside debates about its authorship.

"Such is the effort to amend the Criminal Code, the debate is healthy and should come first from the users of the system itself. I call on the parties to leave aside debates about authorship and to work closely with decision-makers on the appropriate laws that adapt and stand the test of time," said Gjiknuri./ CNA
