Mayor Erion Veliaj commented on Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements about the affair in Tirana's incinerator, which has sent several officials of Tirana Municipality behind bars.

Veliaj said that he will wait for the actions of justice, while he described this moment as a test to get to know people.

He emphasized in a television interview that the same people who attacked him for the National Theater and the Artificial Lake Park are looking for his "head".

When I had the opportunity to answer politically for the theater, the park, the incinerators, that they are the same people, who definitely want the mayor's head. For me it's a fantastic test to find out who is who. Here is the problem that we don't have enough justice for other spheres, where there is corruption and strangeness. This story does not stop only at politics. He understands how eager he is to stop progress in Tirana. But not only will he not stop it, but I can't wait to pass the budget, so that this third mandate will be a boom for Tirana, but the prime minister has some kind of right", he said.

The socialist mayor emphasized that he hopes that the result will be quick.

We must see that as we resolved politically in a public confrontation, we must have a confrontation with justice and see who were the people who really benefited and are being accused of corruption and very serious issues, who are running from justice today, for murder or for blowing up an entire village and who are those people who stick to things until the end.
