Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in an interview for "Opinion" in Klan spoke about his non-appearance in SPAK.

Berisha said that if he were to appear in SPAK, he would create a precedent that, according to him, would be a disaster for the country.

He says that his position has been such that he never legitimizes an act of taking power.

"There is nothing new, in the sense that this is a bandit prison and not a constitution and law. The decision presented by the party scapists in Parliament is a shameful, unprecedented act. They did not go to the parliament to request, as the regulation says, the authorization for the restriction of my freedom, but they went to aggravate the measures which they imposed in an anti-constitutional manner. It was a literal usurpation by the court of the power of parliament. If the Constitution stipulates that the freedom of the deputy cannot be taken away without obtaining the authorization of the Parliament and no one can be stopped to move abroad. This could only be done if authorization was obtained from Parliament. They have tried to hide that it is not a deprivation of liberty. If I implemented it, I support a coup within the state. It can never accept the laying of the constitution on the prosecutor's and judge's desks. You somehow preach to create one of the most dangerous precedents, for today and the future of the country. My position has been this, I never legitimize an act of taking power. If I legitimize this, I will harm this country for decades. If I created a precedent, I would give every autocrat the opportunity to eliminate his political opponent in this way. It is a serious assassination attempt against the order of a state", said Berisha./ CNA
