The non-existent opposition for the majority/ Nikola votes the laws in 8
Assembly session, December 14, 2023

Today's session of the Assembly lasted only 8 minutes, which took place amidst chaos, smoke, fights and insults. The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, started the session late, as she had been warned to start at 10:00.

The session started late due to the tensions created at the door of the Assembly, where the Guard clashed with the opposition MPs. Some of the opposition MPs were not allowed to enter the hall because they were excluded. While others were subjected to a check by the Garda.

However, the opposition MPs were able to introduce smoke detectors into the Assembly, but this did not prevent the socialists from voting the laws quickly.

One of the important laws that the Assembly passed today was the amendment to the Regulations of the Assembly, which received 74 votes in favor. Meanwhile, the opposition MPs continued their protest, with falling tables and chanting; shame, shame!".

We emphasize that the MPs excluded from today's session are: Gazment Bardhi, Sali Berisha, Flamur Noka, Edi Paloka, Albana Vokshi, Elda Hoti, Ervin Salianji, Bledion Nallbati, Asllan Dogjani, Lefter Gështenja, Isuf Çelaj, Luan Baçi, Xhelal Mziu .

The law on changes in the regulation of the Assembly:

The disciplinary measure "exemption from participation in committees/in the plenary session for up to 30 days" is given in cases:

a) when the deputy uses physical violence against other deputies, members of the Council of Ministers, employees of the session service or the Guard of the Republic.

b) when the deputy through violent actions damages the equipment and furnishings of any other logistical means in the session/meeting hall.

c) when the deputy repeatedly commits the violations provided for in point 1 of this article within a parliamentary session.

The disciplinary measure "exclusion from participation in commissions/in plenary sessions for up to 60 days" is given in the following cases:

a) when the member of parliament uses pyrotechnic substances or tools, smoke, paints and other similar materials or tools inside the Assembly hall/committee meeting/inside the Assembly premises;

b) when the deputy commits actions/behavior that constitute acts that are configured as a criminal offense regardless of whether the offense constitutes a criminal offense under the Criminal Code;

c) when the deputy commits repeatedly within a parliamentary session the violations provided for in point 6./ CNA
