After announcing the start of the new parliamentary session on December 19, the Albanian Parliament has announced that a meeting of the Council on Rules of Procedure, Mandates and Immunity has also been called within this month.

The meeting regarding the case against Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku will be held on January 28, 2026, at 12:00 at the Presidency of the Assembly.

 "By Order No. 3, dated 12.01.2026, a meeting of the Council for the Regulation, Mandates and Immunity has been convened on January 28, 2026, at 12:00, at the Presidency of the Assembly, to continue the procedural review of the request of the Special Prosecution Office, which has as its object the granting of authorization by the Assembly for the arrest/deprivation of liberty of the deputy/minister/deputy prime minister, through the replacement of the security measure, according to the procedures provided for by the Constitution and the Regulation of the Assembly", the announcement states. /CNA
