The head of the DP group, Gazment Bardhi, reacted after the statement of the president of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zaçaj, about her mandate.

Bardhi requested that Zaçaj be summoned to the Assembly and asked who is putting pressure on the judges.

He stated that the pressure on judges raises questions about the existence of two institutions of justice.

"The President of the Constitutional Court has stated that there is political and economic pressure on the members of the court. I am concerned that this issue raises questions about the existence of two high institutions, therefore we should not stay out of this debate. We must have an urgent hearing of the President of the Constitutional Court and the President of the Supreme Court.

As the Assembly, we will not have to stay out of this debate that is putting the Constitution of Albania in a crucial impasse. It can put Albania on a path where we have some members of the GJK, some who hold the office by force, some others who are elected by the naming bodies, bringing consequences for the state. This can create problems for us in the European Court of Human Rights", Bardhi emphasized./ CNA
