The Democratic Party celebrates today the 34th anniversary of its establishment and on this occasion a ceremony was organized where leaders, members, sympathizers, but also founders of this political force gathered.

Ervin Salanji has published a message that he cannot be present, as he is behind bars to serve a sentence of 1 year in prison.

In his message, Salianji writes that he would like to be part of the ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the DP.

"I want to greet you today from the bottom of my heart to every democrat, young men and women, men and women throughout Albania, with whom we have been fighting for years.

You are the tireless democrats who have given and give soul to this party, this political force.

I would like to be there with you today, if only for a few hours to enjoy the road that the democrats built for the Albanians. Unfortunately, Albania today is far from what was thought when the Democratic Party was created. And knowing this, tomorrow for us democrats is a battle where we have to own the streets, in endurance, resistance and protest precisely because Albanians unfortunately take the streets more and more every day due to bad governance.

From where I am, it is difficult to act, but it becomes very clear what you need to think and build.

It is so clear that the strikes, pressures, repressions are the black reflection of the pit where the ruling socialists have sunk among themselves and where with these forms and methods of repression they seek to keep power by force and violence since they have nothing to offer the citizens. After they made a pact with the devil and sold Albania to crime and corruption, today they writhe in fear and misery.

It is clear every moment that the Albanians, even when they judge us and when they criticize us, do it under the anxiety that they expect us to act on. To be more, stronger because everyone's life depends on us. Do not expect support from those who have no strength, nor understanding from those whose powers have left Him.

It is clear that they are waiting for us, that the citizens are waiting for us and WE have been waiting for a lot! Because today more than ever we are politically older, stronger, more united!

When I started my journey in this political force in high school with the commitments that a young person should have, I did not think that today, at the end of 2024, I would greet you from a phone booth in the Fier prison where I am being held Convicted for due to a denunciation of a press conference, of an incriminating testimony, proven to be true, which brought within a few hours the surrender of an international drug trafficker connected to the government in Italian prison. This does not only speak about me, but about the difficult days that Albania is going through and when Albania has bad days, when this happens, it is always the democrats who must find the solution, it is always the democrats who must provide salvation.

I want to encourage all my friends today, to engage more than ever before, to bring the change that the country needs. Every minute, every hour with passion and dedication. Elections are coming. We will be together to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. Nothing stops the Democrats.
