Blinken: We will continue to support justice

US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken

The American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, spoke at the press conference on the Reform in Justice and the meeting with the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, as well as with prosecutors and judges.

Blinken said that the reform has produced results and members of organized crime are ending up in legal proceedings.

He declared that justice continues to take steps forward, while he emphasized the support for justice institutions.

"We talked with the prime minister about how to make the democratic institutions of Albania more accountable to Albanian citizens because the Justice Reform in Albania was not easy, but we have started to see results. I also had the opportunity to meet with prosecutors and judges, who are directing these main reforms. It is important to understand that members of organized crime are ending up in court proceedings and this is an ongoing process. We will continue to support Albania in these steps forward", underlined the American secretary./ CNA
