Balla inspects the work to clear common areas in Unit 2

The Minister of State, Taulant Balla, conducted an inspection in Administrative Unit No. 2 in Tirana, together with the socialist team of the May 11 elections, to take stock of the problems related to common spaces and public services.

This inspection had as its main goal listening to citizens in every neighborhood and alley, to respect the 19 historic mandates that Tirana gave to the Socialist Party on May 11, of which he himself will be a member during the new legislature.

"To listen to citizens from corner to corner, in full respect of the 19 historic mandates in Tirana, which we must consider an extraordinary debt to be repaid, by not severing ties with communities, but by listening and working more with ordinary people and for ordinary people," Balla said during the field inspection.

The Minister emphasized that the process of freeing up public spaces will continue without interruption, to guarantee access for all citizens.

He was clear in his message:

"The public spaces between the buildings are the common property of the residents and cannot be privatized by anyone, regardless of who the former owner of the land was."

During the inspection, Balla denounced the installation of fences, glass partitions, or unauthorized structures that restrict the free movement of citizens, warning of their demolition.

He also focused on the cleaning and maintenance of these spaces, requesting increased care from the responsible institutions.

"Common spaces must be clean and safe for everyone: for mothers with babies, for children and for the elderly. They cannot be turned into garbage dumps or obstructed by illegal parking," he stressed.

At the end of the inspection, Balla stated that this is just the beginning of a long process aimed at returning public spaces to the service of the community./ CNA
