"4.2 million euros wasted"/ Muçollari accuses Veliaj:
Member of the DP Presidency, Grigels Muçollari

The member of the DP Presidency, Grigels Muçollari, has accused the mayor Erion Veliaj of corruption in the expansion of the Tirana-Durres axis, after the mayor wasted 4.2 million euros to buy pines and palm trees, knowing that the works for the highway would be done and the money would be went to waste, as the trees were uprooted.

"This is one of the x pines that were uprooted after the expansion of the road, Tirana-Durrës, will be made. Only one such has cost the taxpayers of Tirana, 6,800 euros.

All the pine trees together were bought by Erjon Veliaj for 3.3 million euros. While before, they had gone to waste, they had wasted with the same carelessness and under the same corruption scheme 900 thousand euros with the palm trees, which were withered due to the climate.

4.2 million euros in damage, wasted from the budget, also found by the reports of the KLSH.

All this has happened, even though there was a project in 2014, approved by the Directorate of Roads, to make this expansion.

Erjon Veliaj knew that these works would be done, and the money would go to waste. Again, he bought a pine for 6,800 euros. He is responsible for this abuse.

This is corruption. We have learned that the Ministry of Justice has paid 360 million ALL, from Albanian taxes, for foreign consultancy to fight corruption.

Here they have a case in the middle of the day, in the eyes of everyone. When will Spaku start the investigation for this financial crime?

When will the colleagues of Erjon Veliaj react in the new judiciary, who are paid by the Albanians to do exactly this work, to bring the embezzlers of public funds to justice?", denounced Muçollari.

The Democrat asked for the reaction of the citizens, to keep Veliaj responsible for the affairs that are increasing day by day in the municipality.

"Therefore, people must react, they must raise their voice. These are citizens' assets, they are their taxes", said Muçollari. / CNA
