Andrea Mano, who is expected to take the mandate of deputy after the prison sentence of Ervin Salianji, has avoided the question of whether he will be part of the protests or civil disobedience, an action taken by the Democratic Party.

Mano has returned to the past, to his resignation, which he says was a protest against the former chairman of the DP, Lulzim Basha, but not against the DP.

"After the resignation, I made an act of revolt, a call for reflection by the entire DP towards the former chairman of the DP. My resignation and that of a large part of the members of the presidency and then of the 280 democrats who fled, was a protest against the former - to the president of the Democratic Party, but not to the Democratic Party. Of course, we have been part of the reform processes in the Democratic Party, which unfortunately did not go as we thought, because a part of the old political entourage that ran away from the party leader, reunited you further DP but we continue to be, just like me, even the people who fled, they didn't flee from DP but from the leadership positions they had, they were members of the presidency, leaders of sections and group sections, but they gave their contribution as party members". Andrea Mano stated.

To the question regarding the reformation behind the pulpit that has not met the expectations of dissatisfied citizens and the fact that the opposition is not turning it into a civic movement, Mano answers:

"What we all believed that after the departure of the former chairman of the Democratic Party, the reformation of the Democratic Party, or rather its reformation, raised a great hope and expectation as everywhere in the city of Korça. Despite the fact that we we resigned from that party chairman, we were anathematized as traitors, we were anathematized as people who violate the principles of the Democratic Party. To be honest, all that expectation that was created, unfortunately remains only expectation of the DP that we have the opportunity for all this large group of people who have an extremely large dissatisfaction with the government to become part of our opposition project, we don't need only one way, we don't need only one way to unite them these Albanians and all these people who are dissatisfied with the government, but we need some variants, we need new people who have a different vision of the way of doing politics, people who should finally bring to the PD what it lacks, a a new project, different from the past and which would be a winner in the next elections", said Mano.

Asked how he will co-exist with a part of the DP parliamentary group since the moment Mr. Berisha was declared non grata, the democrats attacked Mano, he says:

"Certainly this morally is the most harmful thing that could happen to the DP because if we have a political stature and a political figure we must maintain our position. Here I mention the case of the group that left the then leadership of the DP -despite the anathemas we had and the very serious accusations from the PD people who, surprisingly, a month ago insulted us and anathematized us with the harshest words, but after a month they came our way, joined the pulpit to what we thought that it was the best solution. So these people who change from one side to the other certainly have more credibility. And this is the approach that this DP and the leader should have in mind for everything if he wants a new project , if you want a new approach with citizens, you can't have people passing from one side of the fence to the other."

Expectations that DP will get a positive result in the 2025 elections, Mano says:

"The approach that was taken to the PD of Korça, I'm talking about our departure, was the most wrong approach, we left and we wanted to send a message to all the democrats of Albania that the path we were going until then, the president who we were going until then, it was a wrong approach, there was a president who was looking at small personal interests and in the statement of that time we mentioned exactly these points and we wanted it to be a shake to bring the democrats back to another path, no on the same road that caused us 8 years of opposition, bargaining, being left behind. Unfortunately, what we did was not understood, but I hope that today time has given us the right and we have a different approach in relations with the citizens and a completely different representation You cannot be represented by the same people who have made the same mistakes and then come and say that we spoke differently then and we speak differently now , I am confident that we have all the possibilities that a fantastic result is achieved in Korça, that we completely change the way we see the citizens and give them what they want."/ CNA
