Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted on social media to the US Independence Day and today's protest against the government.

Këlliçi writes that July 4th is not simply a US national holiday, but also a date that finds Albanians in the streets demanding the end of a rule.

The Democrat states that Rama thinks of Albania as his property that he can do with as he pleases. The MP states that Rama is waging a despicable war against protesters with fake and patronizing profiles.

July 4th is not just a national holiday in the United States. The Declaration of Independence is an event that changed history and a reference to this day in the endeavors of nations.

The citizens crowned their freedom and decided to live according to their own will, not as a king thousands of miles away wanted. The same thing with the French Revolution. They also limited the absolute power of the king and gained rights and freedoms that were unknown until then. Developments that have become cornerstones for Europe and the West.

July 4, 2026 finds Albanians taking to the streets to demand the end of a corrupt and arrogant autocrat's rule.

Like the English king at the time, he also thinks that Albania is his property and he can do whatever he wants. He knows no limits. He controls justice. He sees Parliament as a notary's office and runs the main media in the country, with propaganda and censorship everywhere.

But the people have risen. They demand change. They are today the 4th of July of freedom and rights. While Edi Rama stands behind a disgusting war against the protesters, attacking the army of patronage and fake profiles.

Not forgetting the police boot and rubber baton.

What has arisen in the square is very big. Not even the organizers themselves can control it or turn it back, much less Edi Rama.
