Former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji today revealed details regarding the court process against him, including his sentence in Fier Prison.

Invited to an interview on 'Syri Tv', Salianji said that this is the first case of an MP being imprisoned while still holding a mandate.

Salianji also spoke about the sentencing of Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha and the arrest of Ilir Meta, which he described as political.

"It is the first time that a deputy, or even an ordinary person, has been sent to prison for this issue. I am the first deputy to go to prison with a mandate. After I surrendered to the institutions, the mandate was revoked a week later. This issue was not in its turn, it was taken out of turn.

Let's take a moment that for me was not... the former party leader did not have, let's say, any concessions, let alone any other words. It was 2019 when the mandates were handed over. And there were extraordinary protests, the citizens' merit must be recognized for the extraordinary protests of 2019.

Edi Rama opened the case at the prosecutor's office, the Russian lobbying case, did he keep it hanging until the elections were over? Didn't we go in for the municipal elections? The only element with which he holds power is the creation of a climate of tension and terror using the institutions. Did he put Ilir Meta in jail by setting an example in a bandit way... because it is known that he is a political party mainly linked to the person, or not, to get all his former officials on the lists.

So Ilir Meta and his party were corrupt, but apart from Ilir Meta, everyone else is clean?! Because you have everyone else with Rama. O MPs, o ministers, o directors.
