Murder of Albanian in Greece/New circumstances emerge from phone conversations,

Greek authorities have announced that they are continuing their investigation into a double murder at the Foinikounda campsite in Messinia, where one of the victims was an Albanian citizen.

Investigations continue after the two 22-year-old suspected perpetrators were remanded in custody yesterday following their testimonies, in a court session that lasted about 6 hours.

Police officers and judicial authorities are now piecing together the circumstances of the murders, focusing on telephone records and phone records. The report, expected in the coming days, is considered key to identifying who was present in Foinikounda at the time of the crime and how one of the suspects managed to flee the area after the murders.

Investigators believe the two perpetrators split up and returned to Athens by different routes.

The declassification of the data is also expected to reveal who contacted whom, a critical element of the investigation, as authorities are examining possible involvement by individuals within the family circle of one of the two victims.

Greek media reports that particular weight is being given to the testimony of the 22-year-old man believed to have pulled the trigger. His account is said to contain key details and differs significantly from the version given by the other 22-year-old, who had surrendered to Attica police. Both statements also contradict claims made by individuals linked to the owner of the campsite.

In recent hours, new information has emerged suggesting that a person known to the 68-year-old victim met with one of the suspects in Athens at least a month before the double murder. Authorities are treating this development as significant as they try to unravel the case and determine whether others may have been involved. /CNA
